Weekend Round Up

First of all its sunday morning and here I am in front of the computer.

Saturday ride

(I work alternate Saturdays).
Azwar and a huge group left at 7.30 a.m. from Batu 14 to do the Broga Loop. My tiny group (comprising Ngae, expatriate Robin, Hilmi and myself) left a few minutes later for Titi.
At the top of Genting Peres, we met up with Azwar's group. For the first time, I met the girl (Andrea) who could go up hills with the very best of men. Its true, she hasn't got the face of an athelete, in fact she looks like a gentle bookworm.
I like Azwar's group, they are friendly, regroup at various locations, are multi-racial and of course are all Triathletes.
Talking about friendly triathletes, check out the web-site of the Silicon Valley Tri Club which has a Malaysian member (Isa Hashim). They are really supportive of each other and look like a really fun group to be a part of.

The ride to Titi was comfortable, no sun at all. My ride time was about 15 mins slower than Ngae's. Robin is a wonderful expatriate who has even lived in a longhouse at Bario. Its nice to see him get along so well with typical kampong boy, Hilmi.

Coming back up the reverse of Genting Peres was something else. It felt like it was the hottest sun I have ever encountered going up Genting Peres. I suppose it means I'm not fit. Ngae was way ahead followed by Robin. We had to mentally motivate ourselves to get back to Batu 14 in the intense heat.
Even when back at our vehicles, Ngae was happily standing in the sun oblivious to the heat. A secret, he sleeps without air-con and his car has no air-con. Thus we should do the same if we want to get used to the heat (I think its OK lah, I will just suffer on race day).

Its a small world two

After the ride it was rushing to Raya Open Houses. Only managed a simple lunch after 4pm. At my uncle's met fellow Triathlete Yusran. We worked it out we are not related.

SO CLOSE....

United needed to win as Arsenal have a game in hand. In the 82nd minute, Ronaldo scored what appeared to be the winner. Unfortunately, Gallas decided to break our hearts in the last few seconds. Credit to Arsenal, they are a good side. This season its going to be Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea. Avram Grant is surprisingly doing very well at Chelsea considering the dressing room doubters he would have encountered.

OP Shazly's Open House

In the evening it was OP Shazly's Open House. Using the internet, managed to find his house without much problem.
Of course many other athletes there (Bacin, Stupe, Nor Effandy Rosli and many other fit looking people). Fandi has a bicycle shop in Taman Melawati. He is the sole distributor for ORBEA bicycles.
