I only saw the prize giving ceremony.
The only Malaysian that came in the top five (Marathon) and thus got some prize money was S. Devamani.
The very good prize money attracted quality runners from China (took 4 out of top 5 women placings), Belarus, Kenya, Uganda, France etc. Even Thailand got wiped out, what more Malaysia. I feel sorry for the Malaysians who were hoping to get among the prizes. Perharps there should be a "closed" category.
The first Msian woman came in 9th in 3 hrs 22 min , whilst the first Msian man came in 13th in 2 hrs 38 min.They only won a free MAS ticket, which means they have to spend more money to enjoy the prize.
34 years of endurance sports. Endured a heart attack and major surgeries, but I'm still at it. Only Open Water Swimming now. Very ably supported by my Thai wife, Tip. We are living in Malaysia and I swim to stay healthy.

Leong (and Ng Joo Ngan) came to support us, Dr Tan etc. He didn't do the Ironman. Who knows maybe it will inspire him for next year.
