Sunday - Labour day

161km, 7 hrs 14 mins

This is the cyclist's big day. It was to Kuala Kelawang and back. Its the longest ride so far this year and more importantly, by far the hottest ride this yr. Coming back was an absolute pain. It is a picturesque road. But why is it so hot. No shade, no rain. My body felt it was steaming up Genting Peres. Pouring the water bottle helped only a little.

Going was fine. We started with six and finished with 4. Actually three, i still don't know what happened to Ah Seong Junoir. Chew and Loong left me behind and in turn I left Ah Seong. Up to the top of KK hill it was good. The climb took me 31 mins 2 secs. 20 secs faster than 2 weeks ago. Straight down to K.K.

Had our break at a lovely KOPITIAM. The locals liked us and we liked them.

Going back was something else. Its roughly 25 to 30 km flat initially, but hot. Seong was sometimes behind and sometimes not. I couldn't keep up with Chew or Loong. The climb took me 56 mins 45 secs vs two weeks ago 45 mins 59 secs. It felt forever. Some people like Dr Tan, Chew are not bothered by the heat. Me, I wilt. But made the climb and coasted down to a sundry shop. Went slow to the Tebu stall and slow home.
